What is a shadow chevron or ghost graphic?
A shadow chevron (also called a ghost graphic) is a reflective decal designed to blend into your vehicle's color during the day while becoming highly visible at night when light hits it. Black and white vehicles use black/white versions that are nearly invisible in daylight but emit a bright white glow after dark — dramatically increasing nighttime safety.
What material are your Shadow Chevrons made from?
Our black/white Shadow Chevrons are made from Oralite 5650 Rapid Air — a premium engineer-grade reflective material with Rapid Air technology that virtually eliminates bubbles during application. Colored variants use Nikkalite 48000, a Type 1 ELG glass bead material offering deep, brilliant color reflectivity. Both carry a 7-year durability rating.
What vehicles are Shadow Chevrons used on?
Shadow chevrons are used on police cruisers, sheriff vehicles, firetrucks, EMS vehicles, muscle cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, and personal vehicles. Any vehicle that would benefit from increased nighttime visibility is a great candidate. They are especially popular on black and white vehicles where the graphic effectively disappears during the day.
How do I choose the right size?
Our products are designed "one size fits most" — they can be trimmed with scissors to fit your specific bumper, trunk, or panel. We offer 3" x 50", 4" x 64", 4" x 70", 6" x 64", and 6" x 70" options. The 4" and 6" wide panels are ideal for rear bumpers and trunk lids; the 3" panels work well on smaller surfaces or motorcycles.
How long do reflective decals last?
Our products carry a 7-year rating when applied correctly to a clean, properly prepared surface. Both Oralite and Nikkalite materials are engineered for long-term outdoor durability, UV resistance, and adhesion on automotive-grade paint surfaces.
